Plague Inc. is Getting a New Mode Where You Defeat a Pandemic Instead of Creating One

Plague Inc., the pandemic-themed real-time strategy game in which you try to spread a deadly pathogen around the world, has enjoyed a spike in popularity since the coronavirus outbreak began – despite being slapped with a ban in China. 

Now developer Ndemic is giving something back, and perhaps responding to the distinct unpopularity of contagious diseases at present, by introducing a mode that lets you fight a pandemic instead of causing one. 

Ndemic Has Also Given Away $250,000

More specifically, the new mode will see players boosting healthcare systems, triaging patients, imposing social distancing restrictions, and generally doing all of the stuff that world governments are currently grappling with right now. 

In addition, Ndemic has given away $250,000 to two organisations that are attempting to understand and mitigate coronavirus: the Coalition of Epidemic Preparedness Innovations and the WHO’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.  Feel free to chip in yourself.
