Formula One is launching virtual series to overcome coronavirus Image credit: Formula One Formula One announced intentions to launch a sim racing series to combat inactivity brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Virtual Grand Prix Series will see a number of current F1 drivers compete on the F1 2019, joined by “a host of stars to be announced in due course.” Read the full article here. NASCAR launches eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series Image credit: NASCAR NASCAR and simulation racing platform iRacing joined forces to launch the eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series. The series will see drivers from the NASCAR Cup Series, Xfinity Series, and the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series competing in a multi-week series starting on March 22nd. TV 2 Norway acquires Norwegian media rights for ESL Pro Tour Photo credit: DreamHack TV 2 Norway acquired the Norwegian media rights to the ESL Pro Tour, the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive circuit ran by ESL and DreamHack. The broadcasts began in March and include coverage of the ESL Pro League and other tournaments in the circuit. Read the full article here. TV 2 Norway secures Norwegian broadcast rights to BLAST Premier Photo credit: BLAST TV 2 Norway also secured the Norwegian broadcast rights to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive series BLAST Premier. Unicorns of Love receives investment from Tomislav Karajica Photo credit: Riot Games Berlin-based organisation Unicorns of Love received investment from project developer and investor Tomislav Karajica, who will serve as a strategic partner for the team. The investment comes from Karajica’s project development firm Home United, which owns Austrian football club SK Austria Klagenfurt and is an investor in FC Viktoria 1889 Berlin.
