Metacritic Users Rank Top Games Of The 2010s Decade

Now that we’ve entered a new decade, we can safely look back at the last one: the ups, the downs, the pitting media franchises against each other in a ten-year battle royale for our love and plaudits. GameSpot sister site Metacritic recently conducted its user poll on the top games of 2019, but also tabulated votes on the top games of the decade. The results are a who’s who of masterpieces.

The Last of Us took the top spot, and developer Naughty Dog accepted the honor with good grace in a tweet. It more than doubled the mentions of the second place finisher, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt finished in third.

A few other notable patterns emerge in the top ten. Both Bloodborne and Dark Souls make an appearance on the list, reflecting just how impactful the “Soulsborne” genre has been on the last decade. Rockstar also rocks two spots on the list, with both GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2. You can check out the full list below, along with the 2019 rankings.

The Metacritic feature also shows user polls on other forms of media like movies, TV shows, and music, so definitely check those out if you need some recommendations as well.
