Nerd Street Gamers adds Linode as partner of NCS


Philadelphia-based Nerd Street Gamers has entered a partnership with cloud hosting service Linode.

The deal will see Linode become the official cloud hosting sponsor of Nerd Street Gamers’ National Championship Series (NCS).

John Fazio, Founder and CEO of Nerd Street Gamers discussed the partnership in a release: “Linode provides gamers with top-tier technology and customer service. The player’s experience is a top priority for Linode and Nerd Street Gamers, and we are proud to partner with them for the National Championship Series.”

National Championship Series is a tournament circuit that spans across 10 cities in North America, providing amateur players with the opportunity to compete for a total of $30,000 (£23,334). Linode will provide its services to power Nerd Street Gamers’ tournament matchmaking application, Lobby.gg.

Linode joins sweet brand Mike and Ike as an official partner of circuit for 2020. Nerd Street Gamers just hosted its NCS Minor for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive at Player Omega.

Esports Insider says: Since closing its Series A funding in October, Nerd Street Gamers has been continued to make moves in an effort to bolster its offering for amateur players. Now, with Linode on board, it’s in a good position to provide a positive experience for those who choose to participate.
