Photo credit: Luminosity Gaming Steve Maida, President of Luminosity Gaming commented on the development in a release: “We are excited to announce this strategic relationship and welcome Richard into the Enthusiast family! As a globally recognized athlete, and an avid gamer who was featured on the cover of Madden NFL 15, Richard is a perfect fit for us. With over 50 gaming influencers and esports professional athletes, we are looking forward to adding a Super Bowl champion to our roster.” As part of his role as a brand ambassador, Sherman will challenge other NFL players to play with the organisation’s Seattle Call of Duty franchise. The matches will be streamed across Luminosity Gaming’s network. Sherman added: “Luminosity is one of the most successful esports brands in the world, and I’m excited to be a part of it! As a brand ambassador and team captain of Luminosity, I plan to bring my competitive spirit and love of the game to the esports organization. I am especially eager to challenge some of my NFL rivals and teammates to join me for online matches, streamed on the Luminosity network for all our fans to view and enjoy.” This news comes hot off the heels of Enthusiast Gaming completing its merger with Luminosity Gaming. Following its completion, the company acquired a non-controlling interest in Overwatch League franchise Vancouver Titans. Canadian rapper, singer, and songwriter Tory Lanez became a shareholder and global ambassador for Lumonsity Gaming earlier this year. Esports Insider says: Luminosity Gaming has been on a roll as of late and its first two moves post-merger – acquiring the Seattle franchise and announcing Sherman as a shareholder – are a great start. Seeing Sherman getting involved in a hands-on fashion is cool and what we wish we saw more from celebrities and athletes when they get involved with esports.
