23 Aug eSport DrLupo enters multi-year deal with Rogue August 23, 2019 Posted by GataGames Leave a comment ReKTGlobal, the parent company of Rogue, has secured streamer and Fortnite competitor Benjamin “DrLupo” Lupo for a number of years through a contract extension. DrLupo will act as the face of Rogue through appearances, live streams, and activations. He has also received equity in ReKTGlobal as part of the deal. Photo credit: Secretlab The streamer and competitor is involved in ReKTGlobal initiatives such as Rogue Nation and Junior Rogue, and this will continue through the renewed deal. DrLupo discussed his decision in a release: “Rogue encompasses professionalism at its finest in the esports industry. The relationships that I’ve developed within Rogue feel like no other – the only word I can use to truly describe the feeling is ‘family.’ They’re goal oriented without losing focus on what is most important in gaming: fun. I’m excited to continue to work with Rogue and ReKTGlobal on a ton of exciting upcoming adventures, and I cannot wait to get more people involved.” At the beginning of the year, DrLupo was announced as insurance and financial firm State Farm’s first individual esports sponsorship. The deal includes branded replays and stunts in-stream, event-based remote streams, and social media content. Dave Bialek, CEO of ReKTGlobal commented: “Ben, otherwise known as DrLupo, is the rarest of the rare in esports. He is part celebrity and part philanthropist. He is an individual superstar and the Captain of Rogue’s Fortnite and Junior Rogue teams. His family values and support for Rogue and ReKTGlobal make him the only choice to serve at the face of our growing organization. We are thrilled to have him as an integral part of the company.” Just last month, ReKTGlobal hired esports veteran Michael ‘ODEE’ O’Dell as its Chief Gaming Officer after his departure from Dignitas. As part of his new role, ODEE works to develop business strategies, create client partnerships, and secure brand sponsorships for Rogue and its LEC franchise. Esports Insider says: DrLupo is one of gaming and esports’ biggest personalities and streamers, and he’s only been a positive force thus far. With that in mind, it’s a no-brainer for ReKTGlobal to re-sign him for a number of years. In a scene where the likes of Ninja has parted ways from an organisation after monumental growth, this appears to be an absolute steal for the Rogue brand.
