Photo credit: Team Flash Terence Ting, CEO of Team Flash commented on the new hire in a release: “I am proud to welcome Jesal to our leadership team. He brings with him a wealth of international experience having been a part of OpTic Gaming and will bring a new level of professionalism and world-class standards to the still nascent but high-potential Southeast Asia region. “We truly believe in investing in top-tier talent, which not only applies to our esports athletes but also the crucial leadership behind our organization. Jesal had many choices but ultimately went with us, which is a clear statement of our organization’s potential. With him on board for the long term, our next milestone will be to take Team Flash to the next level as an international esports organization outside of Southeast Asia.” Parekh will lead business and organisational strategies in an effort to position Team Flash at the forefront of esports in the region. He will also play a role in moulding the organisation’s esports and content direction. In his role at Infinite Esports & Entertainment, he led the ‘OpTic Global’ initiative, which saw OpTic Gaming branch into international markets such as Mexico, Brazil, and India. Parekh discussed his new venture: “I am excited about this new chapter in my career. It has always been a priority for me to help contribute to and grow the Southeast Asian esports and gaming ecosystem – returning to Singapore and joining Team Flash is the perfect opportunity to do so. Team Flash has been steadily developing and solidifying its foothold in the region and it is positioned to be something truly special. I am excited to showcase what the team has in store and be part of its future successes.” Esports Insider says: While it’s questionable that OpTic Global was a worthwhile exercise, it has to be said that the initiative grew quickly and executed what the company envisioned at the time. This, in turn, makes us believe that Parekh is efficient in what he sets out to do so this may be a good hire for Team Flash.
