The renewed partnership will cover events such as IEM Chicago and ESL One New York, and it’ll see the ESL Mobile Open expand to cover the entirety of North America after its first season was hosted in the United States. Logo credits: ESL, AT&T Shiz Suzuki, AVP of Sponsorships & Experiential Marketing at AT&T Communications discussed the expansion in a release: “We’re looking forward to these and even more ways we can use the breadth of AT&T to work with ESL using our retail footprint and digital channels to engage fans and players across the U.S. Our ultra-high-speed internet at home and on the go help today’s esports and gaming players elevate their game, and these opportunities with ESL give our customers and other esports fans access to some of the most thrilling moments throughout the year.” AT&T will retain its title as the official telecommunications partner for ESL North America, which it first claimed in June last year. The expansion will also see AT&T continue to promote at stateside ESL events through onsite activations such as premium viewing areas, signing sessions, and providing select customers with early access to venues. Paul Brewer, SVP Brand Partnerships at ESL North America also commented: “Our relationship with AT&T has created groundbreaking opportunities that have generated interest in esports beyond the traditional fan. By expanding it, we’ll continue collaborating with AT&T to innovate the space and create the next big thing for both casual and hardcore gamers.” Esports Insider says: It’s clear that AT&T is happy with the results that came from its deal with ESL – or it, at least, believes solid results are to come. Increasing its presence at more events is no small feat in terms of expense but if any company can afford it, it’s AT&T.
