Kicking off on August 23rd, the StarLadder Berlin Major will be supplied with Secretlab’s chairs for use by the players and casters in attendance. Image credit: StarLadder Ian Alexander Ang, Co-founder and CEO of Secretlab discussed the partnership in a release: “We’re proud to provide our award-winning chairs to support these top Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players with the best sitting experience throughout the StarLadder Berlin Major so they can deliver the best gaming showing of their lifetimes. CS:GO players today are rightfully selective about only using the best-quality gear – even tilting their keyboards to give themselves a performance edge.” The upcoming event is the fifteenth Major in CS:GO history, but the first to be hosted by StarLadder. Like all Majors since 2016, the StarLadder Berlin Major has a prize pool of $1 million (£7.9 million). The teams secured ‘legend’ status in Katowice are Astralis, ENCE, Natus Vincere, MIBR, FaZe Clan, Team Liquid, Renegades, and Ninjas in Pyjamas. Alexander Chegrinez, Chief Business Development Officer at StarLadder added: “Partnering with the world’s best gaming equipment brands to support the most talented and top CS:GO players is of the utmost importance as tournament organizers. Secretlab was the clear choice as a gaming product leader; their gaming seats are of unmatched quality. Having sat on their award-winning chairs ourselves, we are confident their gaming chairs would complete every CS:GO professional’s list of essential gear for a top gaming performance.” Esports Insider says: There’s not too much to really say about this deal – gaming chair partnerships are commonplace in esports at this point and they’ve come to be expected at events. It’ll be interesting to see how many eyes end up being on the Major and, subsequently, just how many people are exposed to partners of the event like Secretlab.
