Riot Games directs Echo Fox to take action following investigation

Echo Fox has just 60 days to fix its current internal issues before Riot Games takes formal action regarding its LCS franchise.

Rick Fox, Founder of Echo Fox previously expressed his intentions to leave the organisation after allegations of racism and threats of violence being used by shareholder Amit Raizada came to light through a report from Dexerto.

Following a preliminary investigation into what happened behind the scenes at Echo Fox, Riot Games issued a statement that explains that it has instructed the organisation to take action.

Chris Greeley, LCS Commissioner for Riot Games addressed the situation: “The LCS has concluded its preliminary investigation into the alleged comments made by a member of the Echo Fox ownership group. Hate speech, threats, and bigotry have no place in the LCS. We have directed Echo Fox to take appropriate corrective action within 60 days.

“If Echo Fox does not take action by removing any individuals whose actions violate League rules and agreements within the required time period, the League will take formal action that may adversely impact the future of Echo Fox in the LCS.”

Riot Games has made it clear that Echo Fox must take action by removing the individual that has violated the league’s rules before it makes a decision that could impact the organisation’s future in the LCS. Echo Fox was formed in 2015 when Fox acquired Gravity Gaming’s spot in the North American competition, which was known as the NA LCS at that time. It has since rebranded as LCS and adopted a franchising system in which Echo Fox was accepted as one of 10 partners.

Esports Insider says: It’s honestly good to see Riot Games enforce a change in Echo Fox considering there’s an individual internally that has said many unacceptable things. While we don’t really know what the developer would do if change doesn’t happen in 60 days, hopefully we don’t have to find out and Rick Fox can remain as part of the organisation he founded.
