Linking two of the largest media entities in Belgium, @sporza + @MNMbe together in a national esports campaign sponsored by @KBC_BE and @AudiOfficial . Looking forward to what the future brings for this partnership! #esports pic.twitter.com/x2EPH9pMCf — Steven Leunens (@stevenleunens) April 24, 2019 The Esports Cup kicks off on May 1 with a series of online qualifiers and will field competitors in FIFA19 on PlayStation 4, and Rocket League hopefuls on PS4 and PC. The FIFA competition will field single players, while the Rocket League tournament will run on a 3v3 format. Those who make it to the top four of their respective competition will be invited to the Sporza studio to face off in a live event. There is a range of prizes up for grabs; for FIFA competitors, the winner will take home a limited edition PlayStation 4 Pro and tickets to the Gameforce Masters in October. The stakes are even higher in the Rocket League side of the Esports Cup; the winning team will move on to compete against the best sides in the Benelux at the Gameforce Masters with a share of the €30,000 (~£25,934) on the line. Esports Insider says: Sporza, in particular, has been quite active in pushing the Belgian scene forward, regularly playing host to local competitions and expressing their dismay at Belgium’s noninvolvement in the FIFA eNations Cup. Seeing a host of Belgian organisations put their heads together to put this event together is a promising sign for the nations growing esports scene, and the Benelux more broadly.
