Fallen Sword II Announced for Android on the MMORPG’s 20th Anniversary

Hunted Cow Games is a Scottish independent studio best known for operating one of the longest-running browser MMORPGs. Now, on the occasion of the game’s 20th anniversary, the studio has revealed Fallen Sword II, its sequel on Android.

It revisits the world that first put the studio on the map

A cross-platform release for both PC and mobile, Fallen Sword II will launch in Q3 2026 on Android. It draws direct inspiration from the original Fallen Sword, which was released in December 2006.

Set in the fantasy world of Erildath, the game’s mix of old-school MUD-style mechanics and crafting systems made it an instant hit. It also offered events driven by the community. It definitely stayed ahead of time. Nearly 20 years after launch, Fallen Sword is still active.

Launching on Android, Fallen Sword II continues the legacy

The game is a spiritual successor rather than a simple remake. You’ll return to Erildath, which is full of dungeon encounters, skill progression, crafting, and alchemy. The setting revolves around a chosen hero tasked by the Gods to confront the ancient evil Imaar and push back a spreading darkness across magical lands.

Combat in Fallen Sword II brings fast-paced, turn-based battles that let you experiment with elemental attacks, status effects, and summoned entities. Fireballs, blizzards, enchanted weapons, and a wide range of summons, ranging from lighthearted to intimidating.

You’ll also get to venture into Gauntlets, dungeon-like challenges with unpredictable encounters. Meanwhile, character progression is structured around six heroic class pathways. They’re Warrior, Mage, Rogue, Guardian, Cleric, and Ranger.

You can earn experience, unlock abilities, and customise the characters through gear, potions, and spells. Crafting lets you create weapons and armour, brew potions through Alchemy, and enhance equipment using the Gemforge.
