The Basics

You are working the night shift at a shawarma stand on a lonely street. You need to make it through your shift and serve customers… but you need to make sure you’re serving the real customers, and not other things pretending to be customers.

Unlike a certain other kebab-based horror game, there’s not a lot to actually making the shawarma or fulfilling orders.

  • Take the lavash wrap from the side.
  • Add sauce from the ingredient tray.
  • Add cheese and salad.
  • Add meat.
  • Close and wrap the wrap.

If you run out of meat, you may have to go to the grill and cut some more. Meat it automatically transferred to the meat tray.

Orders are a little be odd, and sometimes order dialogue doesn’t totally match with the orders you need to fulfil. If you get the message ‘You forgot something.’ Then that means you need to get a soda from the cooler and hand that over.

The Rules

You should find some rules on a paper on the wall. These are important to your survival.

  • If a smiling customer comes in, hand him a soda.
  • The wet moving bundle he gives you must stay sealed under the counter.
  • Every Friday around 2AM, a car with no driver will arrive. That’s the inspection. Exit through the back door immediately. Never look at the shawarma stand during the inspection. Ever.
  • Should the meat on the skewer begin to pulse and moan – kill the fire and leave. Do not listen to the voices in the meat. They only want you to stay.
  • If a faceless man comes to order – serve him, but never look directly at his face.
  • Some customers must not be served at all. Close the window immediately.
  • Never open the door unless you must.

We’ll run over these in more detail below.

Anomalies And You

The key to surviving a shift at the shawarma kiosk is trying to determine which customers are regular people looking for a late-night kebab, and which are… something else.

If you encounter a customer who seems to look or act unnaturally, you can hit the button to the left of the door to close the shutters. This should cause them to go away.

Strange things might include:

  • White eyes.
  • Weird twitching motions.
  • Speaking gibberish.
  • Saying strange, cryptic things.

You should also check the CCTV (see the section below).

Some individuals aren’t unnatural anomalies; they’re just a bit weird, but it’s normally determined by how unsettling they are. Check our section on weird customers below where we tackle some of the oddities.

If you serve anomalous customers, you won’t immediately die or anything, but something bad will happen. They won’t count off your client quota, and the more you let through, the more you let something else in… you’ll know it when you see it.

CCTV

One of the key ways to determine whether an otherwise normal-looking customer is anomalous is the CCTV camera. You’ll find this to the left of the window. It has two cameras, a back and front. Both of these also have nightvision mode.

When deciding whether to serve customers or not, make sure to check the CCTV, you might see some of these things, which are obvious red flags.

  • Customer seems to disappear when you turn on nightvision.
  • Customer’s double appears on the back camera.
  • A creature appears to be clinging to the customer’s back.
  • A double of the person appears against the camera and starts screaming.
  • The camera won’t work at all.

Confirmed Anomalies

The following events are ones we’ve confirmed as anomalies, and should cause you to shut your window.

  • Any of the incidents listed in the CCTV section.
  • A customer who the server mentions has been there before, who says ‘Yes. Before.’ in a strange way.
  • Two twins, one with a head twitch.
  • A woman with white eyes and a wrinkled face.
  • A customer with hole patterns all over his back.
  • A customer with black patches over their arms and legs.
  • An old man speaking gibberish.
  • A man claiming to be a ‘hacker’ who will appear to disconnect your game.

Weird Customers Who Are Not Anomalies

Some customers are just odd. You should still serve them though to avoid a penalty. These are ones we’ve confirmed as legit.

  • Drunk man who can’t pay for his shawarma.
  • Karate man in a gi.
  • Dancing lady.
  • Lady with arm that tapers to a point. (We’ve gotten some inconsistent results on this one, though. We’ve both had this marked as an anomaly, and not an anomaly between versions.)

The Smiling Man

A man with a creepy smile will appear at some point during the night. He won’t say anything. When he does, give him a soda from the cooler behind you. He’ll hand you a strange, wriggling envelope. Take it and stash it under the counter. If you give him the wrong order, he’s likely to appear at your door, so don’t do that.

The Meat

If the meat starts to warp and act strangely, head over to the switch to turn off the grill and get out ASAP. It might get a little hostile when you do, but you should probably do it anyway.

The Inspection

At 2AM The Inspection happens. You’ll know it when you see it. Your screen will turn red, and a car will pull up outside. When this happens, head straight out of the back of the stand, and stay with your back to the stand until the lights change back to normal.

The Faceless Man

As the rules mention, a man with a caved-in face will appear at some point during your shift. Fill out his order by avoiding… eye contact? Eye to face pit contact. As long as you do that, it should go by pretty smoothly.

Other Unsettling Things

You’re likely to see all kinda of weird events throughout the night. If something is bothering you, remember you can always shut the shutters, wait a little while, and check again to see if the problem has passed… unless it’s something inside the shawarma kiosk, of course.. then you might have to face it head on.

NEW: Christmas Event

The Christmas event is currently active, and there are a few new interactions, and changes you might notice inside the game. These include:

  • Snow falling, it will gather more the longer you’re there.
  • Decorations in your shawarma stand.
  • New anomalies may appear.
  • “Santa” might pay you a visit. We’re not sure he’s really Santa, and we don’t like the way the sack he’s carrying appears to be struggling. Shut the shutters on him.

The End

To reach the end, you need to fill your customer quota (listed above the rules on the right side of the stand). This should advance the clock to morning, and mean that you can leave. When we completed a run the first time, there was some glitch that appeared to prevent the ending from triggering. It should kick in when you exit the door.
